Crockett, Mayberry and Ngao to compete for national titles
FORT WORTH – Three Horned Frogs qualified to represent TCU at the 2025 NCAA Division I Track and Field Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, Va., at the Virginia Beach Sports Center March 14-15.
Sprinters Kashie Crockett and Indya Mayberry are joined by middle distance runner Tabitha Ngao at the championship meet after posting top 16 times in their respective events this season.
A freshman, Mayberry has burst onto the national scene just months into the start of her collegiate career. This past week, she was named 2025 Big 12 Indoor Championship Women's High Point Performer, scoring 20 of the team's 55 total points. The Fort Worth native swept the 60m and 200m sprints to earn a pair of gold medals.
This season, Mayberry has rewritten the TCU record books, running a school record 7.11 (converted to 7.13 for altitude) in the 60m at the Corky Classic in her collegiate debut. Her time ranks No. 23 in collegiate history and is the third-fastest ever by a freshman. At the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, Mayberry broke the 200m school record with a 22.41 (converted to 22.48 for altitude). It is the third-fastest mark in the country this season and the eighth-best in collegiate history.
Crockett qualified for his first NCAA Indoor Championships after representing TCU last outdoor season at the national meet. At the Big 12 Championships, he turned in a career-best time of 20.55, the second-fastest in school history, before coming back the next day to win bronze in the 200m. This season, his time ranks 15th in the country.
Ngao rounds out the trio that will race in Virginia Beach, qualifying in the 800m. The sophomore has had an impressive indoor season, breaking three program records. At the conference championship last weekend, Ngao opted to run the 1000m, where she won gold. Her top 800m time came at the Arkansas Qualifier on Feb. 21, where she shattered her own school record by over two seconds, posting a 2:01.71.
