
No. 6 TCU Secures NCAA Qualifier Win Over No. 8 Air Force

Horned Frogs fire eight of the top 10 marks in the match
FORT WORTH – The No. 6 TCU women's rifle team closed out the regular season with a strong performance in the NCAA Qualifier, defeating Air Force 4,733-4,717 at home. The Horned Frogs outshot the Falcons in both disciplines, posting a 2,385 in air rifle and a 2,348 in smallbore to claim first place.
TCU fired eight of the top 10 aggregate scores, led by Katie Zaun, who finished first overall with a 1,191, topping the smallbore standings and placing second in air rifle. Mikole Hogan followed in fourth with a 1,181, while Rylie Passmore and Christina Hillinger each shot a 1,178. Micah Hames, Marissa Fedora, and Ziva Swick posted matching 1,176s, while Kaylynn Slaughter rounded out the top 10 with a 1,174. Annie Downum finished 11th with a career-high 1,172.
Zaun led the field in smallbore, firing a match-best 594. Hogan placed fourth with a 586, followed by Hames and Fedora, who each recorded a 584. Hillinger added a 582, while Slaughter tied her career high with a 583.
Not factoring into the final smallbore score were Passmore (581), Swick (580), Downum (578), and Stuart, who fired a career-best 575.
In air rifle, TCU finished with three of the top five scores. Zaun and Passmore each fired a 597 to finish second and third. Hillinger followed with a 596. Swick also posted a 596 and Hogan added a 595. Downum recorded a 594, while Fedora and White each shot a 592. Stuart rounded out the lineup, tying her career high with a 587.
Air Force was led by Victoria Leppert, who placed second overall with a 1,187 aggregate, recording a 589 in smallbore and a match-best 598 in air rifle.
With the regular season now complete, TCU awaits its official selection to the NCAA Championships. The field of eight teams set to be announced Monday, Feb. 24, at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com.
