TCU is making its 19th consecutive NCAA Championship appearance
FORT WORTH – The No. 4 TCU women's rifle team is set to compete in the 2025 NCAA Rifle Championships in Lexington, Ky., marking its 19th consecutive appearance at the national event. The defending National Champions will take the range on March 14 for the smallbore discipline, followed by Air Rifle on March 15. Both matches are slated to begin at 7:45 a.m. (CT).
TCU will compete for its fifth national title, having previously won in 2010, 2012, 2019 and 2024. Making the trip are Katie Zaun, Mikole Hogan, Christina Hillinger, Rylie Passmore, and Micah Hames.
The Horned Frogs enter the championship ranked fourth nationally with a team aggregate average of 4,727.35, fifth nationally in smallbore (2,345.85) and air rifle (2,381.50).
TCU secured its NCAA Championship berth with a 4,730 aggregate score in the NCAA Qualifier against Air Force. Zaun led the team with a 1,192 aggregate, followed by Hogan (1,183) and Hillinger (1,177).
Zaun, one of the nation's top shooters, is the No. 2-ranked shooter in smallbore (591.85) and No. 3 in air rifle (597.64). She posted a perfect 600 in air rifle against UTEP this season and holds the second-best aggregate average in the country at 1,189.50.
Hogan has been another key contributor, ranking No. 19 in smallbore (586.64), No. 31 in air rifle (594.57) and No. 24 in aggregate average (1,181.21). Hillinger has also been a consistent shooter, ranking No. 27 in air rifle (594.85) with an aggregate average of 1,176.78.
Passmore and Hames round out the championship squad, both ranking inside the top 50 nationally. Passmore holds a 582.76 in smallbore and a 593.92 in air rifle, while Hames averages 593.27 in air rifle with an aggregate average of 1,174.27.
The Frogs will compete against Alaska Fairbanks, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Murray State, Georgia Southern, and Air Force.
