Ngao Runs 800m School Record

Sophomore downs school record for the third time this season

FORT WORTH – For the third time this season, sophomore Tabitha Ngao took down the TCU track and field 800m school record, this time dropping over two seconds off the best time in program history.

Ngao paced the field to earn her fourth 800m event win this season. Her time of 2:01.71 was over a second quicker than the next closest athlete and took down the Arkansas Qualifier meet record set in 2023 (Britton Wilson, Arkansas). She now ranks 13^th in the NCAA this season in the 800m event and second in the Big 12 heading into championship season.

Also competing in the 800m for the men, Mohammed Kowa improved his time from a week ago, shaving off a few tenths. The junior distance runner finished in 1:49.48, good for 13^th overall at the meet and eighth-best in TCU history.

With a bow tied on the regular season, TCU ramps up for the Big 12 Indoor Championships next weekend from Feb. 28 to March 1 in Lubbock, Texas.
