
Morris Breaks 19-Year-Old School Record

Senior runs 7:54.91 3000m
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior distance runner Graydon Morris took down a 19-year-old TCU record on the opening night of the Tyson Invitational, running a 7:54.91 3000m to top Kip Kangogo's 2006 mark.
Morris added his legacy to the history books as one of the best distance runners to wear a Horned Frog uniform. He finished 15th overall in a field that featured plenty of standout competition. Teammate Stone Burke also turned in a personal best performance, running an 8:18.99, the sixth-best time in TCU history.
In the 400m races, the Frogs saw Samarra Monrroy, Amelliah Birdow and Ronnie Kendrick run top 10 times on the Frogs' all-time performance list. Monrroy finished with a 53.22, good for second in school history and just three-tenths off the record, while Birdow followed with a 53.44, the fourth-fastest mark.Kendrick, a true freshman, also posted a personal best time and cracked the top 10 list with the eighth-best 400m by a TCU athlete in 46.83.
TCU's lone event win of the night came from freshman sprinter Indya Mayberry. The defending Big 12 Track and Field Athlete of the Week didn't disappoint in her signature event, cruising to a 7.22 in the prelims. She followed it up with a 7.23 in the semis and then came back to win the final outright in 7.22.
The Frogs also saw PR performances from Morgan Maddox and Sasha Crawford in the 400m and London Tucker in the long jump.
TCU is back for Day Two of the Tyson Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15.
