Punch finishes with 17 points and six rebounds
FORT WORTH – TCU never trailed in a 72-53 win over Oral Roberts Thursday night at Schollmaier Arena.
David Punch led all scorers with 17 points and tied with Micah Robinson as the leading rebounder with six boards. Punch also had three blocked shots, helping the defensive effort that held Oral Roberts (5-9) to 38.5 percent shooting from the field.
Following a 38-25 halftime lead, TCU (8-3) led by as many as 25 points in the second half. A Brock Harding jump shot made it, 56-31, with 12:16 to play. Harding finished with six points, three assist and no turnovers, part of another low turnover night for the Horned Frogs which finished with eight.
The Horned Frogs received great production from Harding's backcourt teammate, Jayden Pierre. The senior guard scored 12 points on 2-of-5 shooting from three and tied season highs in assists with four and steals with three.
Coming off the bench, Robinson scored nine points, Tanner Toolson finished with eight and freshman guard Kayden Edwards hit a 3-pointer and finished with a season-best seven points.
For the third-straight game, TCU won the rebounding battle, 38-26.
TCU, which has won five of its last six games, continues its stretch of three home games in seven days with a matchup with Florida A&M on Sunday at 3 p.m. on ESPN+.

- Micah Robinson tied Punch for team-high honors with six rebounds.
- Punch had three blocked shots. He has at least one block in all 11 games this season. The last player with such a streak was Kevin Samuel in 2020-21 with 11.
- Tanner Toolson had a season-high five rebounds. It was his second-straight game with a season high rebound total.
- Toolson played a season-high 27 minutes.
- Jayden Pierre finished 2-of-5 from 3-point range. He's made a three in 10 of 11 games this season.
- Pierre led TCU in assists for the second-straight game with a season-high tying four.
- Pierre tied a season high with three steals.
