Horned Frogs compete in final ITA event of fall
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A trio of TCU women's tennis players wrapped up play at ITA Sectionals on Saturday afternoon at Mitchell Tennis Center.
Yu-Chin Tsai and Victoria Gomez O'Hayon captured two wins in doubles main draw play to book their spot in the semifinals. Their first win in the round of 16 came against Tess Bucher and Alice Xu of Illinois, and then the duo defeated Oyinlomo Quadre and Chloe Noel from Oklahoma in the quarterfinals in a 7-6(8), 5-7, 10-4 triumph.
However, the pairing would ultimately end up falling in the semifinals then dropping their final match of the weekend in the 3-4 playoff.
Raquel Caballero Chica and Tsai competed in singles action in College Station, and both individuals fell in the first round of the main draw and consolation draw.
The Frogs will close out the fall slate at the W50 ITF Austin, which takes place from Nov. 10-14 in Austin, Texas.
