
TCU Tops No. 10 Florida, 84-80

The Horned Frogs will face Wisconsin for the championship on Friday
SAN DIEGO – Jace Posey scored a career-high 21 points off the bench and Brock Harding recorded a double-double to lead TCU to an 84-80 win over No. 10 Florida in the opening game of the Rady Children's Invitational on Thursday at Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Posey, Harding and David Punch combined to score 39 of TCU's 45 second-half points. The Horned Frogs (4-2) shot 57.7 percent in the second half to turn a six-point deficit, 74-68, with 5:29 remaining, into a four-point win.
It was TCU's first top 10 win over a nonconference team since 1986 when the Horned Frogs defeated No. 6 Oklahoma in Jamie Dixon's senior season.
Harding logged 37 minutes and recorded his first double-double as a Horned Frog. He finished with a season-high 19 points, including TCU's final seven points of the game, and tied a career high with 12 assists. Entering the game ranking seventh nationally in steals, Harding finished with five, contributing greatly to the Gators' 19 turnovers.
Going against the best rebounding team in the country, TCU was only outrebounded 31-28. Southern California native Xavier Edmonds battled foul trouble most of the game, forcing Punch to fill his role. The sophomore responded with a career high tying 19 points and a career-best nine rebounds.
Florida (4-2) was led by Thomas Haugh who scored a game-high 20 points.
TCU will play for the Rady Children's Invitational championship against Wisconsin on Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT on FOX.

- TCU knocked off the defending champions for the first time since 2023 when it defeated Kansas after coming off the 2022 national title.
- Under Dixon, TCU improved to 32-21 in neutral site games.
- Under Dixon, TCU moved to 16-5 in these types of midseason tournaments. Friday, the Frogs will go for their first tournament win since winning the Emerald Coast Classic in 2022.
- TCU shot 57.7 percent from the field in the second half. It was there highest shooting percentage in a half this season.
- The Frogs tied a season high with 12 steals. It was their second-straight game with 12 steals.
- TCU had a season-low nine turnovers.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Jace Posey scored a career-high 21 points. He was the fifth different player to lead TCU in scoring in the six games this season.
- Posey was 9-of-11 from the free throw line, the most makes and attempts of his career.
- Posey tied a career high with six made field goals on eight attempts.
- Brock Harding had a season-high 19 points and a tied a career high with 12 assists.
- Harding recorded his first double-double of the season and the fourth of his career.
- Harding tied a career high with five steals. He's had multiple steals in all six games this season.
- Harding was 7-of-8 from the free throw line which were both career highs.
- David Punch tied a career high with 19 points. It was the second time this season and the third time this season he finished with 19.
- Punch led TCU with a career-high nine rebounds.
- Jayden Pierre scored 10 points. He was 2-of-3 from the 3-point line. It was his sixth-straight game with a made three.
- Micah Robinson was 1-of-5 from 3-point range and has hit at least one three in all six games this season.
