
Horned Frogs Beat Wisconsin to Win Rady Children’s Invitational

Harding named MVP, Punch earns All-Tournament Team honors
SAN DIEGO – TCU led from start to finish to claim the 2025 Rady Children's Invitational with a 74-63 win over Wisconsin on Friday at Jenny Craig Arena.
Brock Harding had another all-around game with 16 points, four rebounds and five assists to earn MVP honors. The junior guard, along with David Punch who finished with a team-high 17 points, nine rebounds and two blocks, were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
TCU (5-2) jumped out to a 17-7 lead, capped by one of two Jayden Pierre 3-pointers six minutes into the game. Three-point shooting became a strength for the Horned Frogs, who shot a season-best 57.1 percent for the game. Liutauras Lelevicius made all three of his 3-pointers in the first half, leading the Frogs to a 41-37 lead at halftime.
TCU scored the first eight points of the second half, six of which came from SoCal native Xavier Edmonds, who finished with 12 points. The Horned Frogs' lead ballooned to a game-high 19 points, 65-46, with 10:02 remaining.
Wisconsin (5-2) went on a 17-5 run to get within seven points, 70-63, with 2:09 to play. The Badgers stayed in it behind John Blackwell's game-high 30 points. Wisconsin also made the most of their free throw opportunities, making 16 of 18 attempts.
TCU's defense locked down to force Wisconsin to miss its last six shot attempts and the Frogs scored the final four points of the game. The Badgers were held to a season-low 34.5 percent from the field.
Lelevicius and Pierre each finished with 11 points and Micah Robinson came off the bench to score seven.
TCU will return to action on Friday, Dec. 5 when it hosts Notre Dame at 7 p.m.
TEAM NOTES
- It was the first meeting in the all-time series between TCU and Wisconsin.
- It was TCU's first midseason tournament title since the 2022 Emerald Coast Classic. It's the sixth midseason tournament title under Jamie Dixon.
- Under Dixon, TCU moved to 17-5 in this type of midseason tournament.
- TCU improved to 108-19 against nonconference teams under Dixon.
- TCU improved to 51-9 in the month of November under Dixon.
- Under Dixon, TCU improved to 33-21 in neutral site games.
- TCU outrebounded Wisconsin, 37-35. The Horned Frogs improved to 4-0 this season, 143-44 under Dixon and 153-44 since the 2015-16 season when outrebounding their opponent.
- TCU shot a season-best 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from 3-point range.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Brock Harding scored 16 points and had a team-high five assists. It was his third double-digit scoring game and sixth time leading TCU in assists.
- Harding had one steal, the first time he hasn't had multiple steals in a game this season.
- Harding was named to the All-Tournament Team and earned MVP honors. He averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 3.0 steals.
- David Punch scored a team-high 17 points and tied a career high with nine rebounds.
- Punch was named to the All-Tournament Team. He averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.5 blocks.
- Jayden Pierre scored 11 points. He was 2-of-2 from the 3-point line. It was his seventh-straight game with a made three.
- Liutauras Lelevicius scored 11 points. He was 3-of-4 from three, all in the first half.
