
Volleyball Falls to Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. – Rounding out its road swing in the Grand Canyon state, No. 13 TCU fell to Arizona in straight sets on Friday night at the McKale Center.
The Horned Frogs (16-7, 6-5 Big 12) struggled offensively as a team, hitting at a .135 clip. Becca Kelley led the scoring effort for TCU, finishing with 12 kills, followed by Evan Hendrix with 11. Setter Rosemary Archer also recorded her 1,500th career assist in the third set.
TCU was unable to overcome a slow start in the opening set, falling behind 6-1 before calling an early timeout. The Frogs tried to chip away, cutting the lead to five, but they were unable to climb back into the set, dropping the first 25-16.
Both teams battled for momentum in the second set as it swung back and forth. The Frogs and the Wildcats exchanged runs, but it was Arizona who delivered the final blow, winning the second set 25-23.
Fighting to stay alive in the match, TCU trailed Arizona 15-11 at the media timeout. A late 6-0 pushed the Frogs ahead 19-17, but they ran out of steam at set point as the Wildcats came back to win 26-24.
No. 13 TCU is back in action on Friday, Nov. 7, when it hosts Utah inside Schollmaier Arena.
