FORT WORTH – Everything was clicking for No. 16 TCU volleyball on Friday night as the Horned Frogs snapped a four-match skid with a dominant 3-1 victory over Utah inside Schollmaier Arena.
It was a night to remember all around as the Frogs (17-7, 7-5 Big 12) welcomed back alumni to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first season of volleyball at TCU. Former athletes from the 1996 team, all the way to the current squad, were present for the victory.
Four Frogs finished with double-digit kills, led by Evan Hendrix, who registered a match-high 21. The sophomore was extremely efficient, as half of her swings on the night went for kills. Junior Lauren Murphy followed with a strong 15-kill outing, just one shy of tying her career-high, on a .412 clip.
Becca Kelley posted 10 kills in the victory, including the 500th of her young career. Only a sophomore, the Rockwall, Texas, native has been a major offensive contributor since stepping on campus. Lastly, Ella Foti tallied 10 kills on the evening, but it was her 31 assists and 17 digs that made her performance one for the record books, as it marked the ninth triple-double in program history.
TCU rounds out its weekend at home on Sunday, Nov. 9, hosting West Virginia at 2 p.m. CT.
