FORT WORTH – No. 13 TCU volleyball continued its winning ways, powering past UTEP 3-1 inside Schollmaier Arena on Wednesday night.

The Horned Frogs (7-2, 0-0 Big 12) picked up their fifth straight victory behind another dominant defensive performance. TCU held the Miners to a season-low .109 hitting percentage and outblocked UTEP 13-5 while finishing with 61 digs. De'Andrea McMillian was a force at the net, leading the way with seven blocks. Jalyn Gibson also recorded five herself and added 10 digs and a pair of aces.

Offensively, the Frogs tallied 51 kills on a .291 clip led by Evan Hendirx. The junior paced the offense with 17 kills on a .333 hitting percentage and added 10 digs for a double-double. Becca Kelley joined her in double figures with 13 kills, while freshman Kinsley Young continued her efficient play in the middle, putting down eight kills without an error on 15 swings to hit a team-best .533. Rosemary Archer did a little bit of everything, recording a double-double with 31 assists and a team-high 14 digs to go along with two aces.

TCU came out strong in the opening set. The Frogs scored the first five points of the night before a 6-0 run with Young at the service line pushed the lead to 13-4. The Frogs kept their foot on the gas as Hendrix picked up back-to-back kills to stretch the lead to double digits at 20-9. Gibson and McMillian capped off the set with a block to seal the dominant 25-13 victory.

UTEP responded in the second set, playing TCU much closer. After 12 ties and four lead changes, the Frogs found themselves trailing by four. They managed to fight off a pair of set points, but the Miners evened the match with a 25-22 win.

Looking to find its rhythm again, Archer helped ignite a 7-2 run early in the third set to put TCU in front, 9-7. UTEP tried to stay within striking distance, but the Frogs pulled away down the stretch. Another 6-1 run turned into an eight-point TCU lead at 22-16, and Hendrix hammered down the final point to hand the Frogs a 25-18 set victory.

TCU wasted no time putting the match away in the fourth. Hendrix opened the frame with a pair of kills, and Gibson stepped to the service line to help the Frogs take a commanding 10-2 lead. Young and Kelley kept the offense rolling before Archer added an ace to stretch the lead to double digits at 17-7. TCU closed the match on a 6-1 run, with Kelley slamming the door shut on the Frogs' fifth straight win.
