TCU was picked first in both the preseason coaches’ and media polls
FORT WORTH – TCU is the consensus favorite to win the Big 12.
The Horned Frogs were picked first in the Big 12 Preseason Media Poll ahead of the 2025-26 season. The poll was voted on by Big 12 and national media members.
TCU also topped the projected standings in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The top-five of the media poll was a carbon copy of the results of the coaches' poll. Iowa State was tabbed second while Baylor, Oklahoma State and West Virginia were selected third through fifth.
The preseason predictions mark only the third time the Horned Frogs have ever entered a season as the top choice to cut down the conference championship nets. TCU's first place prognostications are the program's first in 15 years.
The last time TCU was picked first in a preseason coaches' poll was in 2010, when the Frogs topped the Mountain West Preseason Coaches' Poll in their final season of membership before joining the Big 12. TCU was first picked to win a conference championship in 2003-04 in its penultimate season as a Conference USA affiliate.
The Horned Frogs have matched or surpassed their projected finish in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches' poll in nine of 13 seasons. TCU was picked fourth in 2024-25 and went on to sweep the Big 12 regular season and tournament championships.
In addition to the Big 12 polls, TCU was the league's standard-bearer in the preseason USA Today Sports Coaches' Poll. The Horned Frogs were awarded the No. 12 ranking and are the Big 12's highest-ranked team. TCU debuted at No. 17 in The Associated Press poll. The pair of preseason rankings are the highest ever in program history.
TCU opens the 2025-26 season at 4 p.m. on Nov. 6 against North Carolina A&T. Beginning with their season opener, the Horned Frogs will play 10 of their first 13 games inside Schollmaier Arena. TCU opens conference play on Dec. 20 at home vs. Kansas State. The Frogs' 24-game home winning streak is the third-longest in college basketball.
Single-game general admission ticket sales are available now with prices starting at just $15. New season ticket purchases and group packages remain ongoing. Fans can order now by calling the TCU Ticket Office at 817-257-1849 or online on GoFrogs.com.
