No. 23 TCU commences spring season on Friday
FORT WORTH – No. 23 TCU opens the spring portion of the 2024-25 season at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country, held from Friday-Saturday in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
Unique to the college game, teams will play 27 holes of golf each day for a three-round, 54-hole total. Teams re-pair following day one based on results.
TCU will go with a five-player lineup of Gracie McGovern, Meagan Winans, Kirstin Angosta, Sofia Barroso Sá and Camille Min-Gaultier.
The Horned Frogs are participating in the University of Virginia-hosted event for the first time. The tournament also marks the program's first visit to Mexico.
TCU enters its first of six remaining regular season events on the heels of a standout fall. The Horned Frogs notched two team championships, winning the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational and Jim West Challenge. TCU placed fourth-or-better in each of its final four tournaments. At No. 23 in the Scoreboard team rankings, the Frogs are the fourth-highest ranked squad in the Big 12 and are one of just two programs in the conference with five top-200 players.
The Course – Guadalajara Country Club – Par 72 / 6,563 yards
Designed by John Bredemus in 1942, the lush parkland layout at the prestigious Guadalajara Country Club makes up part of an extensive private estate near the city center. It was the home course of former Arizona All-American and LPGA standout Lorena Ochoa, whose family's home overlooked the club house. From 2008 to 2013 Guadalajara Country Club hosted the LPGA's Lorena Ochoa Invitational.

Head Coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin
- TCU has won 54 all-time team championships, 20 of which have come under the leadership of Angie Ravaioli-Larkin.
- Ravaioli-Larkin is in her 31st season as the head coach of TCU women's golf. A lifelong Texan, she assumed the program helm in the fall of 1994 and is the longest-tenured head coach at TCU and across all Big 12 women's sport programs. Ravaioli-Larkin has become a fixture within the TCU community and the history of its athletics department. She has worked with six athletic directors and coached in five conferences.
- Ravaioli-Larkin-led teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 27 of 30 seasons.
- TCU has reached the NCAA Championships nine times under Ravaioli-Larkin, including consecutive appearances in 2022 and 2023.
- TCU is enjoying a streak of 22 consecutive seasons with NCAA postseason representation.
- TCU has claimed five conference championships spanning three different leagues under Ravaioli-Larkin.
- Ravaioli-Larkin has mentored 37 all-conference players, nine All-Americans and 42 All-American Scholars in her time as head coach.
- TCU won two tournaments in the same season for the first time since 2018-19 and third time in the Ravaioli-Larkin era with its pair of titles at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational and Jim West Challenge.

- TCU won its first tournament title in six years with its triumph at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational on Sept. 11 at the PGA Tour Keene Trace Golf Club. The Horned Frogs finished seven-over (871) and won by a 12-stroke margin. TCU played even-par golf over its final 36 holes.
- Always a point of emphasis, TCU's birdie game has blossomed in 2024-25. The Frogs' seven-player roster has tallied a combined 246 birdies, good for an average of 49.2 per tournament. TCU birdied 53 holes in its Jim West Challenge championship. TCU bagged a tournament-leading 39 birdies on their way to the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational team title. At the Carmel Cup, TCU carded 29 of its 42 birdies over the final two rounds.
- Five players finished 17th-or-better in TCU's fall season finale at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate on Oct. 28-29 at Ridglea Country Club in Fort Worth.
- Excluding its season-opener at the Carmel Cup on Pebble Beach Golf Links, TCU has produced a 285.1 season scoring average (3,136 strokes) over its last four events.
- The Horned Frogs finished par-or-better in seven of 14 rounds during the fall portion of the season.

Gracie McGovern
- Tied for 10th (+1, 214) at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate for her first career top-10. She led the 60-player field in par-3 scoring (2.91, -1) and shot a two-under 69 in the final round.
- Achieved a career-best Scoreboard ranking of No. 192 following the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate.
- She produced TCU's best score over rounds two and three in the Carmel Cup. She shot a four-over 148 over the final 36 holes on her way to a tie for 20th at Pebble Beach.
- Has turned in a countable score in 8-of-11 possible rounds.
- Was the world No. 9 junior amateur golfer in 2023 and was ranked as high as seventh in the Rolex Junior Rankings that same year.
- Originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, McGovern became the first female to win the AIA D-III State Championship in 16 years in 2023.
- McGovern competed at the LPGA Liberty National Tournament in 2023 and was paired with world No. 10 Charley Hull in her final round.
- The 2023 season also saw McGovern selected to compete for Team USA in the Jr. Solheim Cup.
- Ranks second on the squad in birdies (47).
- Achieved a career-best Scoreboard individual ranking of No. 94 on Oct. 23.
