
TCU Downs Cal Poly, 5-1, on Senior Day

FORT WORTH - Five different Horned Frogs tallied a goal in TCU women's soccer's 5-1 win over Cal Poly on Sunday afternoon at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Seven Castain, Bella Diorio, Caroline Kelly, Oli Pena and Ainsley Moy all recorded a goal in the contest.
The Rundown
It did not take long for the Frogs to get on the board as Seven Castain drew a foul inside the box and was rewarded with a penalty kick in the 10th minute. Castain converted the attempt, scoring her fourth goal of the year.
In the 17th minute, Bella Diorio notched her fourth goal of the year as Castain found her along the left side of the pitch. Diorio sprinted down the line before beating the goalkeeper with a precise cut inside the box before delivering a strike to the bottom right corner of the goal.
Caroline Kelly netted a goal in the 30th minute off a set piece that saw Morgan Brown just miss a header attempt. Abigail Cox gathered the rebound and vollied the ball with her own header attempt and Kelly did the rest, scoring off a header. The assist marked Cox's first collegiate point and Kelly recorded her second goal of the year and 33rd of her career.
Just a minute into the second half, AJ Hennessey drew a foul inside the box. Oli Pena took the penalty kick and converted the attempt to put the Frogs up 4-0.
Cal Poly got on the board with a penalty kick of their own in the 70th minute, but the Frogs responded as Cox and Kelly found Ainsley Moy who did the rest as she put the ball in the back of the net. The goal marked Moy's first career goal.
