Women's tennis opens up the fall season on Sept. 12
FORT WORTH – The fall tennis season kicks off on the west coast this week for the TCU women's tennis team.
The Horned Frogs are set to open the 2024-25 campaign at the Battle in the Bay Classic on Thursday at the California Tennis Club on the campus of University of San Francisco.
The tournament takes place from Sept. 12-15, featuring Stanford, Oklahoma State, USC, Pepperdine, Georgia, San Diego, Virginia, Arizona, Colorado, and Arizona State.
The event is an early-season proving ground for many of the top talents across the country. A total of 32 singles players and 16 doubles tandems from schools spanning the Big 12, Big Ten, ACC, SEC and West Coast Conference comprise the field. Both the singles and doubles champions receive a wild card onto a series of ATP Challenger or Futures events along the west coast.
This marks the second consecutive year that the women will participate in this prestigious event.
Five players are traveling to the event; Jade Otway, Isabel Pascual, Yu-chin Tsai, Tomi Main, and Raquel Caballero. Main will be participating in doubles only with Tsai and Caballero will play in the main singles draw.
