Horned Frogs outgain the Cardinal 457-to-286 in total offense
Trailing 24-20 with 6:57 to play, Josh Hoover led an 8-play, 74-yard drive, capped by a 4-yard scoring pass to Jack Bech, to put the Horned Frogs on top to stay at 27-24 with 3:13 remaining. The drive was keyed by a 34-yard completion to JP Richardson.
After forcing a 4-and-out on Stanford's ensuing series, which featured a combined sack by Marcel Brooks and Devean Deal, TCU sealed the victory four plays later with a Cam Cook 7-yard scoring run to make it 34-24 with 1:51 left.
Bech (139) and Richardson (107) gave TCU two 100-yard receivers in the same game for the first time since Derius Davis (139) and Quentin Johnston (114) against Oklahoma State in 2020. Combined with Savion Williams (85), who had a 5-yard scoring reception for TCU's first points of the game, the Horned Frogs had three receivers with at least 85 yards in the same game for the first time in program history.
Hoover completed his first eight pass attempts and finished 28-of-42 for 353 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was 6-of-6 on the go-ahead fourth-quarter scoring drive.
TCU outgained Stanford 457-to-286 in total offense. The Horned Frogs had 10.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks.
