FORT WORTH – TCU's men's golf team added a pair of transfers over the summer in Joe Pagdin and Lewis Wright.
Pagdin is from Sheffield, England and spent the last four seasons at Florida. He starred as a freshman, earning SEC Freshman of the Year, SEC All-Freshman Team and PING All-Region Team honors. Also, during the 2021 season, Sheffield was a member of the Arnold Palmer Cup International Team.
Sheffield recorded six top-20 finishes in eight tournaments in 2021 and was selected as an alternate in the 2021 Walker Cup.
Last season, Sheffield was tied for sixth at the Gators Invitational, which included a season-low round of 5-under 65. He'll be a senior this season for TCU.
Wright will also be a senior this season after spending the past three years at Long Island. The Brentwood Essex, England native was a three-time All-NEC honoree for the Sharks. He was named PING All-Northeast Region and was first-team All-NEC last season as well as a two-time NEC Golfer of the Month and Prime Performer.
Last season, Wright won his first career tournament, the Bucknell Invitational, by three strokes after shooting 7-under 203. He also shot 7-under 135 to finish runner-up at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate to lead the Sharks to a win at the 17-team event. Wright was runner-up at the UConn Invitational after shooting even-par 216.
The Horned Frogs will begin the season at the Sahalee Players Championship, Sept. 7-8, in Seattle, Wash.
