Frogs take down Aggies 11-9 in semifinal
OCALA, Fla. – The TCU equestrian team advanced to the NCEA National Championship for the second time in program history after taking down No. 4 Texas A&M, 11-9, Friday afternoon at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fla.
The Horned Frogs will make their first appearance in the national championship since 2016. TCU will take on the reigning national champions No. 2 SMU on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT.

ORDER OF EVENTS
FENCES
The semifinal meet began in the fences arena where TCU fell to A&M, 3-2. Jordyn Scelsa stayed perfect (2-0) at the World Equestrian Center, earning her point 85-84 on Hardy. Ashleigh Scully started off the day with a win on Kevin with the highest score in the event 87.33.
REINING
In the western arena the Horned Frogs claimed reining 3-2 over the Aggies. Giorgia Medows claimed the first point earning a 67.83 on Magnum and 10th win of the season. Kaylene Cunningham narrowly edged her opponent, 71.67-71.33, on Barbie to stay perfect in the event at the NCEA tournament. Shea Graham closed things out with a 71.17 ride on JellyBean earning her second reining win of the weekend.
FLAT
The meet was tied 5-5 at the half before the Frogs kicked things off in the Flat arena. Where the jumping seat unit took down the Aggies, 3-2. Laurel Smith made her first 2024 NCEA tournament appearance showing Charlie earning the point, 78.33-73. Ella Bostwick had a strong performance on Barnaby to earn her 10th win of the season. Scully wrapped the day for the jumping seat team earning her second win of the day on Trey. The senior scored the highest in the event with an 80.33.
HORSEMANSHIP
TCU led 8-7 heading into the final event of the day, horsemanship, where the western unit ultimately took down the Aggies, 3-2. Payton Boutelle entered the arena riding against a 75.67 on Snip where she earned a 76.17 to claim the first point. Jessica McAllister edged her opponent 77.67-77.17 on Charlie to claim the 10th point of the day for TCU. Medows was the final Frog to enter the arena where she won 75.17-64.33 on Chubby to clinch the win.
