Jade and Isabel improve to 6-0 in doubles play
FORT WORTH – The TCU women's tennis team fell short to the UCF Knights on Sunday afternoon at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center, 4-3.
THE RUNDOWN
The Horned Frogs secured the doubles point after Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual earned their sixth straight victory as a duo. Otway and Pascual won 6-2 on court two and moved to 6-0 together. Yu-Chin Tsai and Chiho Mushika were leading 5-4 on court 1 at the time the point was clinched.
In singles, Raquel Caballero Chica received a walkover on court six to make the team score 2-0 and Otway earned the Frogs third point on the top singles court when her opponent retired in the opening set due to injury.
Destinee Martins and Helena Narmont picked up first sets on courts three and five respectively and although both fought valiantly, were ultimately defeated in tightly contested three-set matches.
