Horned Frogs card 11 birdies on front nine; tied for 10th
RIO GRANDE, P.R. – If Monday was "Moving Day" at the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic, the Horned Frogs took advantage.
TCU fired a team-score of three-over 291 and vaulted into a tie for 10th on day two of the 54-hole affair at Grand Reserve Golf Club.
The Horned Frogs bagged 14 birdies in the penultimate round of their spring season-opener. TCU finished three-under in the second half of play, with 11 of its birdies trickling in over the final nine holes.
"Proud of the consistent and simple-yet-tough mindset today," said head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin. "We have one more round to keep climbing. We must stay present and be mindful of our controllables and our breathing."
Just five strokes separate teams six through 11 in a 15-team field that boasts seven teams in the top-50 of the Spikemark NCAA women's golf rankings. TCU is tied with Ole Miss for 10th and trails eighth-place Purdue by two strokes for a potential top-half finish.
Three Horned Frogs reside in the top-20 of the individual leaderboard. Sofia Barroso Sa is tied for 15th at even-par (144) while Lois Lau and Kirstin Angosta are one-over and knotted at 19th. Meagan Winans is tied for 66th at plus-nine to round out TCU's team score.

TCU's lone senior, Lau closed her day with back-to-back birdies on holes 12 and 13. The showing swelled Lau's career birdies tally to 334, putting her 24 shy of breaking the Horned Frogs' individual career record.
Angosta matched Lau's form. She rattled off four birdies in a five-hole stretch, highlighted by three straight on holes 5-7 on her way to a two-under 34 on the front nine. She finished even-par in what was her second collegiate round.
Barroso fired a score of 73 (one-over) while Winans and Charlotte Cattaneo turned in respective scorecards of plus-four (76) and plus-six (78).
