
Dobson Breaks Pentathlon School Record in Albuquerque

TCU wrapped up a successful day one at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Elise Dobson's pentathlon school record highlighted a successful Day One of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic on Friday night at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Dobson broke her own program record with her new personal-best 3,747 points. She kicked off her day with a personal record in the 60m hurdles (8.81) to finish sixth and followed that up with a personal-best 1.70m (5-7) in the high jump to sit in fifth through two events. Her throw of 10.94m (35-10.75) also earned her sixth in the shot put.
After finishing 11th (5.23m) in the women's long jump, Dobson capped off her day with a 2:27.23 in the 800m – good for seventh and 728 points to break the school record. She placed sixth overall.
Joel McFarlane capped off the first day of the heptathlon in fourth with 3,005 points. He placed third in the 60m (6.99) and third in the long jump (6.92m) to start the day. He also finished fifth in the shot put with his throw of 12.93m (42-5.25). McFarlane finished the first day of competition with a ninth-place finish in the high jump at 1.84m (6-0.5).
The Flyin' Frogs shined in the 200m. In the men's 200m invitational, Kashie Crockett placed third with his personal-best time of 20.71 – the sixth fastest indoor mark in program history. On the women's side, Iyana Gray took fifth with her time of 23.03.
In the men's 200m unseeded, Jayden Douglas placed second overall with his time of 21.07.
Three Frogs placed in the top 10 of the unseeded women's 400m. Tia Williams (55.36) was the leading TCU runner and finished fourth overall while Kelaiah Daniyan (55.84) and Amelliah Birdow (56.38) placed seventh and 10th, respectively.
Josh Benford clocked a big personal best in the 600m with his fifth-place time of 1:20.78. David Seete ran the sixth-fastest indoor time in program history and placed sixth in the 400m invitational (46.63). On the women's side, Samarra Monrroy also took sixth with her time of 54.05.
In the unseeded men's 400m, Dominic Byles placed seventh with his time of 48.00. Also placing seventh was Quinn Calhoun in the pole vault with her height of 3.89m (12-9).
