Miller leads the Frogs with 15 points and five rebounds

FORT WORTH - TCU battled back from a double-digit deficit for the fourth-straight game, but unlike the previous three, was unable to come out on top in a 77-66 loss to Texas Saturday afternoon in front of 7,894 at Schollmaier Arena.

The Horned Frogs (16-6, 5-4) led by as many as 10 points, 16-6, following a layup by Xavier Cork. The Longhorns (15-7, 4-5) closed the half on a 23-7 run to lead 43-32 at the break.

TCU grabbed its first lead since early in the game on a layup and free throw by Jameer Nelson Jr.. The Frogs led 56-55 with 8:37 to play. Texas pushed the lead back to seven with 5:20 remaining before two free throws by Emanuel Miller tied the game, 64-64, with 3:53 to play.

As they did in the first half, the Longhorns closed the game on a 13-2 run and held the Frogs to one made basket in their last seven attempts. All 13 of those points came from Max Abmas who led all players with 21 points.

Miller led TCU with 15 points and five rebounds. Joining him in double figures was Avery Anderson III with 13 points and JaKobe Coles and Trevian Tennyson with 10 points each.

TCU will next face No. 12 Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. The game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.

TCU moved to 70-121 all-time against Texas.
TCU dropped to 10-2 at home this season and 3-2 at home in the Big 12.
TCU dropped to 31-24 as a top 25 team under Jamie Dixon.
The Frogs forced 16 Longhorn turnovers. TCU has forced its opponents into 13 or more turnovers in all but two games this season.
TCU retired the jersey of Kenrich Williams with a halftime ceremony. He's the fifth Horned Frog to have his jersey retired for men's basketball.
The announced attendance of 7,894 was the fourth largest in TCU history.

Individual Notes

Emanuel Miller led TCU with 15 points. It was his 10th-straight game in double figures and his 20th of the season. It was his 11th time this season leading the team in scoring.
Miller moved up five spots to No. 27 in all-time scoring at TCU with 1,106 points.
Miller led in rebounds for the sixth time with five.
Avery Anderson followed with 13 points, two shy of his season-high. He was 6-for-10 from the field, including 1-for-1 from 3-point range.
Anderson tied with Trevian Tennyson for the team lead with four assists.
Tennyson scored 10 points. He was 3-of-5 from the field, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range. He's 10-of-18 from deep over the past three games.
Jakobe Coles scored 10 points, on 5-of-7 shooting. It was his ninth game this season with 10 or more.
Micah Peavy made his first 3-pointer of the game, which was five-straight makes from deep after Tuesday's 4-of-4 effort. Peavy finished 1-of-2 from 3-point range and scored nine points.
Ernest Udeh Jr. had two blocked shots. It was his fifth game with two or more blocks.
Chuck O'Bannon Jr. was out for most of the game with an illness.
