Miller leads the Frogs with 15 points and five rebounds
FORT WORTH - TCU battled back from a double-digit deficit for the fourth-straight game, but unlike the previous three, was unable to come out on top in a 77-66 loss to Texas Saturday afternoon in front of 7,894 at Schollmaier Arena.
The Horned Frogs (16-6, 5-4) led by as many as 10 points, 16-6, following a layup by Xavier Cork. The Longhorns (15-7, 4-5) closed the half on a 23-7 run to lead 43-32 at the break.
TCU grabbed its first lead since early in the game on a layup and free throw by Jameer Nelson Jr.. The Frogs led 56-55 with 8:37 to play. Texas pushed the lead back to seven with 5:20 remaining before two free throws by Emanuel Miller tied the game, 64-64, with 3:53 to play.
As they did in the first half, the Longhorns closed the game on a 13-2 run and held the Frogs to one made basket in their last seven attempts. All 13 of those points came from Max Abmas who led all players with 21 points.
Miller led TCU with 15 points and five rebounds. Joining him in double figures was Avery Anderson III with 13 points and JaKobe Coles and Trevian Tennyson with 10 points each.
TCU will next face No. 12 Iowa State on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. The game will air on either ESPN or ESPN2.

- Micah Peavy made his first 3-pointer of the game, which was five-straight makes from deep after Tuesday's 4-of-4 effort. Peavy finished 1-of-2 from 3-point range and scored nine points.
- Ernest Udeh Jr. had two blocked shots. It was his fifth game with two or more blocks.
- Chuck O'Bannon Jr. was out for most of the game with an illness.
