Miller records double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds

LUBBOCK, Texas – TCU led by as many as 10 points late in the second half but was unable to hold onto the lead in an 82-81 loss at No. 23 Texas Tech Tuesday at United Supermarkets Arena.

The Horned Frogs (18-8, 7-6) led 69-59 following a layup by former Red Raider Micah Peavy, who scored all 10 of his points in the games' final 11 minutes.

From that point on, TCU made three of its final 13 shot attempts. Texas Tech (19-7, 8-5) finished 6-of-8 from the field down the stretch and made its last 11 free throw attempts.

Tech took its first lead since the opening bucket of the second half with a pair of free throws from Pop Isaacs, 75-73 with 1:27 to play. The Frogs cut the deficit to one point two times in the final 29 seconds of the game, but each time, the Red Raiders answered with a pair of free throws.

Perhaps the best chance came on TCU's final possession. After two free throws by Isaacs, who finished with a game-high 19 points, Tech led by three with 12 seconds to play. Similar to TCU's previous game at Kansas State, Jameer Nelson Jr. attempted a step-back 3-pointer at the top of the key, But unlike Saturday's game, the attempt was off target.

JaKobe Coles laid in the miss to bring the Frogs within one, but with just over one second remaining. After forcing a trap on the ensuing inbounds play, time expired.

TCU dominated the glass, 49-36, and outshot Tech 42.3 percent to 39.4 percent from the field. Tech won the game at the free throw line, making 24-of-28 (85.7 percent) and TCU was 16-of-21 (76.2 percent).

Emanuel Miller finished with his second double-double of the season. He scored 15 points and posted a season-high 12 rebounds.

Avery Anderson III also finished with 15 points and had five rebounds and four assists.

The Horned Frogs will return to action this Saturday against Cincinnati at 2 p.m. on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Emanuel Miller tied a team-high with 15 points. It was his 14th-straight game in double figures and his 24rd of the season.
Miller passed JD Miller for 22^nd place all-time at TCU in scoring with 1,163 points.
Miller recorded his second double-double of the season and 17^th of his career as he brought down a season-high 12 rebounds. It was TCU's first loss when Miller records a double-double (7-1).
Avery Anderson III tied a season-high 15 for the fifth time this season.
Anderson led the Frogs with four assists.
Jameer Nelson Jr. scored in double-figures for the 16^th time this season with 14 points.
