
TCU Matches Season-Best Score At Air Force

Horned Frogs fire six of the Top 10 marks
USAFA, Colo. – No. 2 TCU turned in its best air rifle performance of the season and matched its season-high aggregate score in the NCAA Qualifier at Air Force Saturday morning. The Horned Frogs fired a 2,391 in air rifle and defeated the Falcons 4,746-4,739.
All six Horned Frogs that made the trip to Air Force placed in the top 10 in the match. Stephanie Grundsoee led the field with an aggregate mark of 1,191. Katie Zaun was close behind with an 1,190. Stephanie Allan (1,186) and Nina Schuett (1,184) finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Jeanne Haverhill (1,179) and Mikole Hogan (1,170) rounded out the top 10.
TCU fired a team score of 2,355 in smallbore to get the morning started. Grundsoee and Zaun led the field with identical marks of 592. Allan matched her season-high with a 589, while Nina Schuett set her season-high with a 589. Haverhill fired a 582 and Hogan a 578.
All six shooters fired a 592 or better in air rifle as TCU produced five of the top seven scores in the discipline. Grundsoee once again paced the field, firing a 599. Zaun shot a 598 to finish second. Allan and Haverhill each fired a 597 to account for the team score. Schuett shot a 595 to finish seventh, while Hogan's 592 was just outside the top 10 in 11th place.
TCU will officially be selected to its 18th straight NCAA Championships when the field of 8 is announced on Monday, Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com.
