
TCU Sits Second After Smallbore

Horned Frogs fire a 2,347 in smallbore
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – No. 2 TCU fired a team score of 2,347 in smallbore on Day 1 of the NCAA Championships which are taking place at WVU Coliseum. The Horned Frogs are in striking distance, trailing West Virginia by just six shots heading into the final day of competition.
TCU fired two of the top four scores in the first relay. Stephanie Grundsoee's 592 was second, while Katie Zaun contributed a 590. Stephanie Allan shot a 583 to round out the relay.
In the final relay of the day, Mikole Hogan fired a 582 and Jeanne Haverhill a 573.
Grundsoee and Zaun represented TCU in the finals. The duo each earned a spot on the podium with Zaun finishing second and Grundsoee third.
West Virginia won the smallbore title, shooting a 2,353. Kentucky sits third with a score of 2,338, followed closely by Alaska (2,337) and Air Force (2,333). Navy (2,330), Ole Miss (2,328) and Nebraska (2,317) round out the field of eight.
The final day of the championships commences at 8 a.m. (CT). Two air rifle relays will be followed by the individual finals and an awards ceremony.
