No. 12 TCU battles Bulldogs in final tune-up before Big 12 play
FORT WORTH – TCU hosts Samford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in its penultimate nonconference affair.
The midweek matchup is all that separates the 12th-ranked Horned Frogs from Big 12 play. TCU travels to UCF on Saturday for its conference-opener.
The Horned Frogs have won 11 straight games inside Schollmaier Arena dating back to February.

Scherr helped lead Kentucky to a 72-59 home victory against the Bulldogs on Dec. 31, 2023, in her second and final season in Lexington. She netted 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
- Versus the state of Alabama, TCU women's basketball holds a 4-2 all-time record. The Horned Frogs have split a pair of nonleague affairs vs. Alabama and Auburn and hold a victory apiece over Sun Belt foes South Alabama and Troy. Both of TCU's victories over the Crimson Tide and Tigers took place during the now-defunct Big 12/SEC Challenge.
- Samford represents the third of four opponents on TCU's 2024-25 schedule the Horned Frogs have not previously played. TCU defeated Idaho State and Florida Atlantic in their first-ever meetings on Nov. 24 and Dec. 4, respectively. The Horned Frogs close out nonconference play with their first all-time matchup with Brown on Dec. 29.
- The Horned Frogs have tangled with one member of Samford's roster, junior guard Sierra Godbolt, who was a member of a 2023-24 UCF squad TCU defeated, 66-60, on Jan. 23 in Schollmaier Arena.
