No. 7 TCU Falls to Kansas in Big 12 Championship Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The No. 7 ranked TCU women's soccer team fell to Kansas, 1-0, in the Big 12 Championship game Saturday night at CPKC Stadium. Seven Castain led the Horned Frogs with five shots.
The Rundown
Both teams battled through a scoreless match in the first half, but it was not without chances. In the ninth minute, Bella Diorio recorded TCU's first shot on goal on a beautiful feed from Seven Castain in the middle of the pitch. Diorio ran past her defender and took a shot that landed in the arms of the Jayhawk goalkeeper.
The Frogs had another good look in the 27th minute as Cameron Patton found Camryn Lancaster in the middle of the field, but her bid missed right of the goal.
Castain recorded TCU's second shot on goal in the opening period in the 38th minute as she took a shot from the right side of the box. Her her shot, ticketed for the upper portion of the was deflected away by the leaping Jayhawk goalkeeper.
The match's only goal came in the 65th minute. Kansas was awarded a penalty kick as a result of a defensive miscue inside the 18 and converted.
TCU kept the pressure one, but could never find the equalizer. The Frogs' best chance to tie the contest up came in the 73rd minute as Castain had an open look at the goal. Her chip shot over the goalkeeper's head ricocheted off the crossbar.
