
TCU Drops Overtime Game to CSU, 76-72

Collins leads Frogs with a season-high 18 points and eight rebounds
PALM DESERT, Calif. – TCU dropped its second-straight game Friday with a 76-72 loss to Colorado State in overtime in the consolation game of the Acrisure Invitational at Acrisure Arena.
After trailing by as many as eight points late in the second half the Horned Frogs (4-3) led 66-63 with 1:05 to play following a pair of free throws by Brendan Wenzel. A 3-pointer by the Rams' Bowen Born tied the game, 66-66 with just under a minute left in regulation.
Each team had an empty possession to give TCU the final shot of regulation with 6.9 seconds to play. A 3-pointer at the top of the key by Frankie Collins missed to send the game into overtime.
TCU never led in the extra period. Both teams made three field goals, but the Rams (4-3) were 4-of-4 from the line, which proved to be the difference.
Collins had a season-high 18 points and eight rebounds to go with five assists and five steals. Noah Reynolds' 12 points and Trazarien White's 10 were the Frogs' other double-digit scorers.
Colorado State was paced by Nique Clifford, who finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots.
The Horned Frogs will next play on Thursday, Dec. 5 against Xavier in the Big 12/BIG EAST Battle. Tip from Schollmaier Arena will be at 7 p.m. and air on ESPN+.

- TCU played in its first overtime game of the season. The Frogs went 1-1 last season with the win coming in triple overtime against at No. 15 Baylor.

- Frankie Collins scored a season-high 18 points, including two made 3-pointers.

- Collins had a season-high five steals. He's the first Frog with five steals since Ernest Udeh Jr. had five at Cincinnati on Jan. 16, 2024.
- Noah Reynolds scored in double figures for the third time this season with12 points. He also had 12 in Thursday's game against Santa Clara.
- Ernest Udeh Jr. had a career-high four blocked shots to go with six points and five rebounds. All of the rebounds came in the second half.
- Isaiah Manning went 2-of-3 from the free throw line, his first time at the charity stripe this season.
