TCU to play at 1 p.m. on Friday against Colorado State
PALM DESERT, Calif. – TCU fell in the opening game of the 2024 Acrisure Invitational, 69-52, Thursday at Acrisure Arena.
The Horned Frogs (4-2) led 41-40 with 13:36 to play following an offensive rebound and dunk by Ernest Udeh Jr., who finished with nine points and 12 boards. The Broncos (3-4) immediately answered with a 24-3 run over the next nine minutes for their largest lead of the game, 64-44. From that one-point lead with over 13 minutes to go, TCU scored just four more field goals.
Frankie Collins scored 12 of his team-high 15 points in the second half, including TCU's only made 3-pointer of the game out of 17 attempts. Collins had three of the team's five assists.
Noah Reynolds also scored in double-figures with 12 points.
The Horned Frogs will play its final game of the Acrisure Invitational at 1 p.m. CT Friday against Colorado State. The game will be on truTV.
TEAM NOTES
- It was TCU's first game on Thanksgiving since Nov. 28, 2013, in the Great Alaska Shootout.
- TCU moved to 0-3 all-time against Santa Clara.
- Jamie Dixon's record moved to 492-235 as a head coach.
- TCU moved to 31-18 in neutral site games under Dixon.

- Ernest Udeh Jr. returned to the lineup after missing the past two games with a back injury.
- Udeh had a season-high 12 rebounds to go with nine points.
- Frankie Collins scored a season-high 15 points.
- Noah Reynolds scored in double figures for the second time this season with12 points.
- Brendan Wenzel was 0-of-3 from 3-point range. It was his first game this season not making a three.
