
Six Frogs Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Castain, Hennessey, Kelly, Memoly, Mooney and Plaschko were honored
FORT WORTH - Six TCU women's soccer athletes earned College Sports Communications Academic All-District honors. Seven Castain, AJ Hennessey, Caroline Kelly, Lauren Memoly, Maddie Mooney and Megan Plaschko earned all-district accolades.
Among the group of six Horned Frogs, five have been selected to advance to the final CSC Academic All-America Ballot. Castain, Kelly, Memoly, Mooney and Plaschko will be among the athletes eligible for Academic All-America honors when the final list in announced on Dec. 11, 2024.
Teams were allowed to nominate up to six individuals meeting specific criteria. Athletes must be at least a sophomore or a transfer student. Academically, nominees must have at least a 3.50 GPA and have played in at least 90% of the team's games.
Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom. The all-time list of 42,000+ Academic All-Americans includes major sports stars and some of the world's most accomplished individuals in medicine, business, science and the arts. Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators, Academic All-America is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions. Teams are announced year round and amplified by CSC member colleges, universities, and conferences on a wide local, regional, national, and even international scope.
The Frogs are back in action on Friday against Penn State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament which will be hosted by Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla. First touch is set for 1 p.m. (CT). The match will be televised on ESPN+.
