Horned Frogs begin the spring season on Monday in Tucson, Ariz.
FORT WORTH – TCU begins the spring season for men's golf on Monday at the Arizona NIT in Tucson, Ariz.
The two-day 36-hole event will take place at the Omni Tucson National on the Catalina Course. It's the same location where the PGA Champions Tour has played its Cologuard Classic in recent years.
The five playing for TCU are Gustav Frimodt, Ethan Dial, Andrew Petruzzelli, Jack Beauchamp and Toby Wilt.
The 36-hole Monday will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. CT Tuesday's 18 holes will be a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. CT.
The 18-team field includes several highly ranked, including No. 6 Arizona State, defending champion No. 16 Arizona and No. 25 Texas A&M.

THE COURSE – Par 72 | 7,200 yards
The Catalina Course has been the host course of the PGA Tour and is known for its magnificent views and traditional-style layout with gentle contours and tree-lined fairways. Characterized as a traditional course, the Catalina has long provided a fair test of golf to players of every caliber. Designed by Robert Van Hagge and Bruce Devlin, the Catalina Course was selected as one of Golf Digest's 75 Best Golf Resorts in North America.
TEAM/PROGRAM NOTES
- TCU has won the most team titles of any school at the Arizona NIT, winning it in 2005, 2006 and 2010. The Frogs last competed at the Arizona NIT in 2014-15 and finished seventh.
- Frimodt, who led TCU in five tournaments last season and had five top 10 finishes, started this season off right as he earned co-medalist honors at the Valero Texas Collegiate in the opener. He was also ninth at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate and 12th at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational.
- Frimodt ranks eighth in the latest PGA Tour University Rankings. The PGA Tour University Ranking is the mechanism to determine which graduating seniors earn automatic access to PGA TOUR-sanctioned circuits. FULL RANKINGS
- Frimodt ranks 23rd in the latest NCAA rankings.
- Petruzzelli, a freshman from Dallas, will look for his third top 20 finish.
- Wilt will make his first appearance for the Frogs since the season opener at the Valero Texas Collegiate.
- Bill Allcorn is in his first season as TCU's head coach after assisting at Oklahoma for six years.
- Former TCU golfer Cole Buck joined Allcorn's staff as associate head coach in June. Buck graduated in 2017 from TCU and spent the past three seasons as an assistant at Stanford.
