
TCU Overcomes Large Deficit in 74-69 Win at OSU

Miller finishes with 21 points and 11 rebounds
STILLWATER, Okla. – Behind a double-double by Emanuel Miller, the TCU men's basketball team overcame a 17-point deficit to win at Oklahoma State, 74-69, Tuesday night in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Miller scored 21 points and had a season-high 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. The senior forward scored 14 of his points in the second half when TCU shot 65.2 percent from the field.
After spending four seasons with OSU, Avery Anderson III returned to Stillwater in purple and tied a season-high with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
An 18-2 run by OSU (8-11, 0-6) gave the Cowboys an early 22-8 lead. A three by Bryce Thompson increased the OSU advantage to 17, 33-16, with 5:58 to play in the half. TCU (14-5, 3-3) then held OSU to without a field goal for the remainder of the half and ended the period on a 14-2 run.
Trailing 37-33 at the half, it didn't take long for TCU to take the lead. Miller made the Frogs' first 3-pointer to give TCU a 42-39 lead with 17:24 to play, its first advantage since three minutes into the game.
Six more lead changes took place and then once again, TCU's defense shut down OSU as the Cowboys were held without a field goal for the final 5:57 of the game.
TCU outshot OSU, 52.6 percent to 41.2 percent and outrebounded the Cowboys, 38-28.
The Horned Frogs will return to action on Saturday at No. 15 Baylor. The game begins at 3 p.m. on ESPN2.
Team Notes
· TCU improved to 14-29 all-time against Oklahoma State and 4-15 in Stillwater. It was TCU's third win in the last four tries against OSU.
· TCU improved to 3-2 on the road this season.
· It was Jamie Dixon's 153rd win as TCU's head coach. He is three wins away from tying Billy Tubbs for second on the school's all-time wins list.
· TCU's 17-point deficit was its most in a win this season. It was the third time this season that TCU has trailed by double digits and won. TCU trailed by 14 to Arizona State and was behind by 12 to Houston.
· TCU outrebounded OSU, 38-28. The Frogs improved to 10-3 this season and 125-39 under Dixon when outrebounding their opponent.
· TCU outshot OSU, 52.6 percent to 41.2 percent. The Frogs improved to 13-1 this season and 130-27 under Dixon when outshooting their opponent.
· OSU led for 22:03, while TCU led for 12:03.
Individual Notes
· Emanuel Miller finished with 21 points, his sixth game with at least 20 points. He has scored in double figures in all, but two games this season. Miller moved up two spots to 34th in all-time scoring at TCU with 1,059 points.
· Miller had a season-high 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season and the 16th of his career.
· Miller tied a season-high with 39 minutes played, subbing out for just 28 seconds.
· Avery Anderson III tied a season-high with 15 points.
· Anderson was 6-of-9 from the field, which tied a season-high for makes.
· Anderson was 1-of-3 from 3-point range and has made at least one three in each of the last five games.
· Trevian Tennyson made one 3-pointer. He has made at least one 3-pointer in all, but three games played.
· Micah Peavy had 16 points, the most he's scored since putting up 21 in the season opener against Southern.
