Miller reaches 1,000 career points as a Horned Frog
FORT WORTH - Emanuel Miller's 27 points led the TCU men's basketball team to an 80-71 win over No. 9 Oklahoma Wednesday night in Schollmaier Arena.
Miller entered the game needing 27 points for 1,000 in his TCU career and the 6-7 forward got exactly that. With 2:33 remaining in the game, Miller drained a 3-pointer to give TCU its largest lead of the game at 17 and his 1,000th point as a Horned Frog.
TCU (12-3, 1-1) ended the first half on an 11-2 run to lead 40-34. Oklahoma (13-2, 1-1) scored back-to-back 3-pointers to begin the second half to tie the game. Miller scored the next basket off one of six offensive rebounds for the senior. All 12 lead changes took place in the first half as TCU maintained the lead throughout the remainder of the game.
As they have been doing so most of the season, the Horned Frogs forced turnovers, 14 by the Sooners which turned into 25 points. TCU took care of the ball and had a season-low seven turnovers to go with 14 assists, led by five from Avery Anderson III.
TCU will face its third-straight AP Top 25 team on Saturday when No. 2 Houston visits Schollmaier Arena at 5 p.m. on ESPN.
