TCU set to host TCU Invitational
FORT WORTH – TCU women's tennis head coach Lee Taylor Walker announced the Horned Frogs' schedule for the 2023 fall season, headlined by the TCU Invitational October 27-29.
TCU is set to take the court 11 times from September-November in a series of ITA and ITF tournaments.
"We are always excited about giving our players the opportunities in the fall to build on their WTA ranking, and for some to achieve their first WTA ranking," Walker said. "Providing our players these tournaments and support allows them to really mature and grow into more complete players at an accelerated pace. That's why we always maximize the fall with ITF and WTA tournaments. We are also looking forward to getting back into hosting our home fall tournament. It was one of the major college tennis tournaments each fall before the pandemic, and we are excited to get it back going."
The Frogs start the fall season in California for the Berkley ITF 60K on Sept. 18-22, followed by the Hilton Head ITF 15K, which runs from Sept. 25-29.
TCU heads back to California for the Redding ITF 25K on Oct. 2-6 before competing in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Texas Regional Championships, hosted by Baylor from Oct. 12-16.
The Frogs conclude their extended road swing with a visit to Macon, Georgia on Oct. 16-20 for the Macon ITF 80K.
TCU then returns to the Lone Star State for a week, first for the Tyler ITF 80k (Oct. 23 – Oct. 26) before playing host to the TCU Invitational.
Following the TCU Invitational, TCU splits its squad between the Norman ITF 15k and Atlanta ITF 25k, which run from Oct. 30-Nov. 3.
TCU wraps up the fall season at the Big 12 Individuals in Waco from Nov. 10 – Nov. 12)
"Whether it's the college tournaments or the pro tournaments, we are getting ready for the competition and believe it's going to be a successful and fun fall," Walker said.
