FORT WORTH – Melanie Parra led TCU with 34 kills as the Horned Frogs defeated Texas Tech, 3-2, on Friday night in Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena.
Audrey Nalls became the 13th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 kills in her career and the third Horned Frog in TCU's Big 12 era. Nalls was one of five Horned Frogs to tally a double-double in the win.

TCU hit .405 in the first set with Gibson and Parra recording seven kills apiece. The Frogs tallied 21 kills in the first set alone.
The second set went back-and-forth, with TCU leading 12-10 before the Red Raiders went on a 6-0 scoring run. The Frogs climbed back and an ace from Cecily Bramschreiber gave TCU the 18-17 lead.
TCU ended the second set on a 4-0 scoring run as kills from Riley Buckley, Lydia Seymour and Audrey Nalls gave TCU the two-set advantage.
The Frogs struggled in the third and fourth sets as the Red Raiders forced a five-set contest. Despite falling in the previous two sets, TCU got off to a fast start in the fifth and never let up. Two kills from Parra and a service ace from Gibson put TCU up 3-1. Parra recorded a set-best eight kills in the fifth set, landing the Frogs' final three kills of the set to win the match.
