Camryn Lancaster tallies four points in match

MORGANTOWN - TCU scored a season-high five goals Sunday afternoon as the Horned Frogs took down West Virginia, 5-1. Seven Castain tallied her second career brace and Camryn Lancaster netted a goal and tallied two assists.

The Rundown
On a wet and muggy day in Morgantown, W. Va. the rain did not damper the Horned Frog offense as TCU scored a season-high five goals in the winning effort.

Seven Castain opened the scoring off an assist from Camryn Lancaster to put the Frogs on the board in the 8th minute. Lancaster chipped the ball over a Mountaineer defender allowing Castain to run free and have a clean look at the net. Castain capitalized, hitting a cross-body shot to the right of the goalkeeper.

Gracie Brian extended the TCU lead to two in the 22nd minute. Lancaster made the goal happen as she intercepted a Mountaineer pass before placing the ball right at Brian's feet.

The second half was more of the same as Castain tallied her second goal of the contest. In the 56th minute, with TCU on the attack, she picked up a shot that deflected off the goalkeeper and scored into the open net.

Lancaster, already with two assists, added another two points to her day when she scored in the 68th minute. Lancaster's initial look was deflected by a Mountaineer defender but she stayed composed and delivered a world-class strike from just outside the 18.

In the 85th minute Skylar Heinrich scored TCU's final goal. Bella Diorio tallied the assist as she beat her defender and found Heinrich open inside the box.

Lauren Kellett tallied five saves in the contest.

"The Big 12 didn't do us any favors by giving us the three road games to start off the conference season. You look at it and say, we come away with seven points in the first three games on the road, that's really, really good. We have performed very well and the players went about their business with the effort. They followed the scouting report to a tee and were able to come away with five goals. I couldn't be more happy and proud of this group for starting the season off maybe not in the most desirable way, but we're starting to figure it out at the right time."
On scoring five goals
"We were on the front foot from minute one and continued that throughout the course of the game and played really well. We're starting to play TCU soccer at a really high level and if we can do that, we're going to be really successful."
