FORT WORTH - TCU took down Kansas State, 2-0, Thursday night at Garvey-Rosenthal. Seven Castain and Skylar Heinrich both scored in the contest.
The Rundown
The offense for the Horned Frog did not take long to pick up where they left off Sunday as From midfield, Camryn Lancaster found Seven Castain in stride with a perfectly placed ball. Castain jostled a Kansas State defender for position before taking advantage of an unsuccessful tackle attempt. She crossed the ball to her right foot before striking it into the back of the net to give the Frogs a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.
The Frogs controlled possession for much of the first half and headed into the break with a 7-2 shot advantage over the Wildcats.
TCU created eight corner kick opportunities in the second half. The closest of those opportunities came in the 62nd minute when Lancaster beat her defender down the line and put a cross in the box for a Gracie Brian header attempt. The shot missed just high to keep it a 1-0 game.
The aggressive play from the Frogs paid off in the 78th minute when Brian executed a beautiful ball through a group of Kansas State defenders. The ball found a sprinting Heirnich just outside the 6. Heinrich's cross-body shot passed the reach of the diving Wildcat goalkeeper to extend the Frog lead to 2-0.
TCU's defense limited the Wildcats to just five shots and none on goal.

Quote of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
Overall thoughts
"The first 20 minutes of the first half, we were really good. The next 25 we were not so good. In the second half, I thought we were really good. So, overall it was a good performance. I think that we are still learning how to win college soccer games and create some really good chances. Now we just have to figure out a way to convert those chances. It is never easy with Kansas State, they make it hard for some odd reason, so you know it is a grind."
On what is clicking for the team
"I think early on we still had to figure out the lineup. We still had to figure out how to win soccer games against some really good teams and I think we learned some lessons the hard way."
