Preview: Women’s Tennis Kicks Off Fall Season at Battle in the Bay Classic

Four Horned Frogs headed west for ITA invitational
FORT WORTH – TCU women's tennis begins the 2023-24 season at the Battle in the Bay Classic on Sept. 21-24 in at the California Tennis Club in San Francisco.
The Horned Frogs are sending upperclassmen Destinee Martins, Helena Narmont, Isabel Pascual and Margaret Polk to the Golden State.
This will be the first time in program history TCU has competed at the Battle in the Bay Classic.
Martins led the team in singles wins last season with 15 overall victories. She went 24-12 combined in singles and doubles play, with majority of her singles triumphs coming from court four.
Narmont produced a 20-17 overall record last season.
Pascual is set to play her first match in purple and white in two seasons. The senior took a medical redshirt in 2022-23.
A fifth year senior, Polk went 3-2 in singles play last season.
The Battle in the Bay Classic is regarded as one of the most competitive collegiate fall events. Both the singles and doubles champions are awarded a wild card to a series of ATP Challenger and Futures tournaments along the west coast.

The Frogs head to South Carolina on Monday to compete in the Hilton Head ITF 15K at the Van der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club.
