
TCU tied for 10th after Day One

Horned Frogs finished one-under-par, led by Sofia Barroso Sa.
CORINTH, Texas –TCU holds 11th place after two rounds of play at the Sam Golden Invitational on Monday at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas.
The Horned Frogs shot a 1-under-par 575 against a competitive field that features five current or former Big 12 rivals in BYU, Houston, Texas Tech, Nebraska and Missouri. Two of the five Horned Frogs who teed it up finished even or under par.
"We came out a little flat and left a lot of shots out there today with some silly mistakes," said head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin. "This team is talented with fight and determination. We will be ready for our final round tomorrow."
Sophomore Sofia Barroso Sa was TCU's top performer through the first 36 holes. The Portugal native carded six birdies and one eagle on her way to a 1-under 71 season-opening round. Barroso Sa was one of two Horned Frog to finish under par in both rounds.
Lois Lau also added to the Horned Frogs' charge on day one, picking up right where she left off the 2022-23 campaign. Lau carded 10 birdies on the day to finish with a 3-under-par 141 to start the season. Her 10 birdies moves her up to third on the TCU career birdies list with 291, passing Horned Frog legends Annika Clark and Angela Stanford.
Meagan Winans made her debut for TCU, carding a 1-under-par 71 in the second round of the tournament. The junior transfer from nearby Richardson, Texas pushed the Horned Frogs down the stretch, carding five birdies today.
Freshman Sofie Dimitrova recorded a 2-over-par in her debut, while sophomore Sheridan Clancy scored 4-over-par on the day.
