FORT WORTH - Lauren Kellett became TCU's all-time leader in shutouts Thursday night, passing Emily Alvarado (2017-21) with her 22nd career clean sheet. The contest ended in a 0-0 tie despite the Horned Frogs outshooting the Blazers, 18-3.
The Rundown
TCU picked up momentum at the end of the first half with a couple of quality looks. Back-to-back shots on frame by Marli Galdamez and Gracie Briand in the 39th minute forced the UAB goalkeeper to make two diving saves. TCU outshot UAB 4-2 in the first half.
In the second half the Frogs dominated possession for almost the entire 45 minutes, funneling 14 shots towards goal.
TCU had a fantastic look in the 61st minute off a corner kick opportunity. Brenna Brosam's header went just high over the net. Minutes later, off another corner kick opportunity, Oli Pena found Brian just inside the six, but the shot off her back heel trickled just wide of the net.
Lauren Kellett needed to make just one save in the game to record her record-breaking shutout.

Quote of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
Overall thoughts on the game
"It was a tale of two halves. We weren't particularly sharp in the first half and I think that showed. The second half was much better, but it was too late. We are learning some tough lessons right now and hopefully they figure out ways to be better and get better results. I thought UAB defended and worked their tails off to try to keep us off the board. It's hard to win college soccer games."
