
Mudzengerere, 4x400 Team Punch Tickets to Austin

The final day of the NCAA West Round begins tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. CT.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Two Horned Frog entries punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championship on Day Three of the NCAA West Regional at Hornet Stadium at Fred Anderson Field.
In the men's triple jump, Theophilus Mudzengerere secured his spot in his first ever NCAA Outdoor Championships. The freshman jumped 15.74m (51' 7.75") on his first attempt and held on to his qualifying-spot throughout all three jumps.
Mudzengerere is fresh off a fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships. With his eighth-place finish in the NCAA West First Round, he has placed in the top 10 in the triple jump at every meet this season.
The men's 4x400 team of Ethan Brown, Donnie James, David Seete and Simbarashe Maketa clocked a 3:05.20 to claim the last qualifying spot of the night. The squad placed fifth overall in their heat to advance to Austin, Texas.
TCU's 4x400 team has shined throughout the year, winning the 2023 Penn Relays title and also garnering bronze at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
Jaren Holmes placed 16th overall in the men's triple jump with his leap of 15.54m (51' 0"). In his first NCAA West Round appearance, Damilare Olukosi took 20th overall in the triple jump at 15.36m (50' 4.75"). Gavin Champ placed 37th overall at 14.73m (48' 4").
The men's 4x100 team of Clinton Muunga, James, Maketa and Seete clocked a 39.96 to finish 24th.
