FORT WORTH – After a successful regular season, TCU is ready to make its mark at the 2023 Big 12 Outdoor Championships, slated for May 12-14 in Norman, Okla.

Last Time Out
TCU shined at the 2023 Penn Relays. Iyana Gray became TCU's first ever Penn Relays women's 100m champion. Gray, who advanced to the finals after running the third-fastest time in the prelims (11.71), placed first with her time of 11.50.

In addition to Gray, the men's 4x400 team brought home the Penn Relays 4x400 Championship for the first time since 2008. The squad of Ethan Brown, Donnie James, David Seete and Ryan Jordan shaved eight seconds off their prelim time and held off Texas A&M to place first (3:04.41).

At the Oliver Jackson Twilight, Jaren Holmes recorded one of the top men's long jump marks in the Big 12 this season. Holmes jumped 7.79m (25' 6.75") to place first and he now holds the fourth-longest outdoor long jump mark in program history. He now sits at No. 3 in the Big 12 in the long jump and No. 2 in the triple jump (16.40m).

In the 800m, Jasmin Muhammad-Graham won with her time of 2:07.87. Rylan Engels placed third with her time of 2:15.41. Mathilda Bjorklund continued her stellar season with her fourth outdoor win of the season in the hammer throw. She took first with her throw of 54.85m (179' 11").

USTFCCCA #EventSquad
The men's triple jump squad (Jaren Holmes, Theophilus Mudzengerere, Gavin Champ, Patrick Sylla and Damilare Olukosi) rank No. 2 in the USTFCCCA's #EventSquad rankings with a combined average leap of 15.79m (51' 9.75"). Both Holmes (No. 8) and Mudzengerere (No. 19) are ranked in the Top 25 on the NCAA Outdoor Performance List.

Big 12 Athletes of the Week
TCU swept the Big 12 Athlete of the Week awards on March 22. With her three wins at the TCU Alumni Invite, Gray garnered TCU's first female Big 12 Athlete of the Week award since 2021. She currently leads the Big 12 in both the 100m and the 4x100 relay. On the men's side, Mudzengerere's victory in the triple jump earned Big 12 Athlete of the Week after leading the Big 12 in the triple jump.

2023 Indoor Season Recap
Both Grace Anigbata and Jaren Holmes garnered Second Team All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Anigbata finished 10th overall with her school-record leap of 13.58m (44' 6.75").

On the men's side, Holmes finished ninth with his mark of 16.23m (53' 3"). It's the third time this indoor season he has cleared 16.10m and the first time he has garnered All-American honors.
