
Juszczyk Crowned Big 12 Javelin Champion

Juszczyk becomes TCU's first ever Big 12 Javelin Champion
NORMAN, Okla. – Sydney Juszczyk was crowned TCU's first-ever Big 12 Javelin Champion on the first day of the Big 12 Outdoor Championships at the John Jacobs Track Complex.
Juszczyk, who was the No. 1 seed headed into the event (50.62m) advanced to the finals as the leader with her throw of 49.66m (162' 11"). She never gave up the lead and improved on her sixth and final throw, ending with a mark of 50.40m (165' 4").
In her two years at TCU, Juszcyk has finished in the top three in both Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
Jill Johnson and Elise Dobson both sit in the top 10 headed into the final day of the heptathlon. Johnson kicked off the day with a fifth-place finish in the 100mH (14.20) and took second while tying the outdoor school record of 1.73m in the high jump. She finished 11th in the shot put (10.36m) and sixth in the 200m (25.44) to finish the first day in sixth place with 3,241 points.
Dobson ran a strong 14.52 (2.9w) in the 100mH to finish ninth and placed eighth overall in the high jump at 1.64m. With her performance in the shot put (11.33m) and 200m (26.53) she currently sits in 10th with her total of 3,057 points.
In the women's hammer throw, Mathilda Bjorklund placed 10th with her mark of 56.05m (183' 10"). Mariana Martinez placed 17th overall in the women's 10K with her time of 37:55.12. On the men's side, Noah Winters clocked a 32:35.95 to place 14th.
