
TCU Women's Tennis Receives Two Big 12 Yearly Honors

Lemaitre and Aristegui earn Second Team Honors
FORT WORTH – Two Horned Frogs appeared in the Big 12 Tennis Postseason Awards list. The seniors who have led TCU throughout the regular season, Mercedes Aristegui and Tiphanie Lemaitre.
The No. 1 and No. 2 singles competitors for TCU earned All-Big 12 Second Team Singles Honors. Aristegui, the senior captain led TCU in total singles wins in dual match play 12. She accumulated a 5-0 record on the No. 1 singles courts and went 7-3 on the No. 2 singles courts. In conference play alone, the captain went 3-2 with a ranked win against Texas.
The Spaniard took down Texas' No. 66 Charlotte Chavatipon in straight sets (6-3, 6-4). The only other Horned Frogs to bring down a ranked foe in conference matches was Lemaitre.
The senior from France played each of her singles matches on the No. 1 singles court. She won three conference matches with the highlight win of the year coming against No. 9 Texas.
She brought down No. 76 Nicole Khirin in straight sets (6-3, 7-6). Both Lemaitre and Aristegui earned their first Big 12 postseason award of their careers.
