
TCU Powers Past UNC Wilmington To Even Series

The Rundown
Kole Klecker (7-2) turned in his fourth quality start of the season, holding UNCW to a pair of runs on just one hit. He walked two and struck out two to pick up the victory.
The offense poured on the support scoring multiple runs in four innings. The Frogs got things started in the first. Tre Richardson tripled and scored on a Brayden Taylor base hit. Cole Fontenelle followed with a home run to put the Horned Frogs in front 3-0.
After the Seahawks pulled within one on a two run home run in the third, TCU answered with a Taylor two run home run to restore the three run lead, 5-2.
Thirteen batters came to the plate in the sixth as TCU struck for nine runs. With one on and one out, nine straight Frogs reached base. Elijah Nunez got the scoring started with an RBI-single. Kurtis Byrne followed with a two-run home run. Luke Boyers doubled in a run and scored on a Richardson base hit. After Anthony Silva worked a bases-loaded walk, Karson Bowen followed with a two-run single. Nunez picked up his second RBI of the inning with a sacrifice fly. When all was said and done, TCU had a 14-2 lead.
TCU answered a Seahawk run in the seventh with three in the bottom of the inning. Three walks loaded the bases. A wild pitch brought home a run and Silva singled in the final two runs of the game for TCU.
The trio of Louis Rodriguez, Mason Speaker and Justin Hackett each pitched an inning of relief to lock up the win for the Frogs.

36 – Brayden Taylor hit his 36th career home run. It moves him into a tie for fourth all-time in program history with Evan Skoug and Ryan Dunn.
9 – TCU scored nine runs in the sixth inning. It's the most runs scored in an inning since TCU scored 14 times in the fourth against Oklahoma on May 23, 2019.
