
Top-Ranked Horned Frogs Host No. 34 UCLA in Battle of Storied Programs

The nonconference dual is set for a 1 p.m. first serve on Saturday
FORT WORTH –Two of the decorated programs in Division I men's tennis are set to collide this weekend on the purple courts.
No. 1 TCU hosts 23-time national champion UCLA at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The matinée dual marks the first time the Horned Frogs and Bruins will converge in the Lone Star State.
Saturday's contest also represents a return trip for UCLA. This will be the second time in 365 days the programs have meet. TCU fended off the Bruins 4-2 on March 10, 2022, in Pasadena to notch its second straight win over UCLA.
UCLA, No. 34 in the ITA team rankings, is the first in a string of seven straight ranked opponents TCU (13-0) will host over the ensuing four weeks.
Saturday's match is open to the public. Free pizza will be available while supplies last, courtesy of Buffalo Bros.

As of Wednesday, March. 8, exactly four years, 11 months and two weeks have passed since TCU last dipped outside the top-25 of the ITA team rankings. The Horned Frogs have spent 263 straight weeks in the top-25 of the ITA team rankings, a streak matched by few other Division I programs.
The streak began on March 21, 2018, when TCU skyrocketed from No. 32 to No. 11 following three straight wins over No. 17 Duke (March 13), No. 12 Florida (March 14) and No. 9 Columbia (March 18)
The trio of top-20 wins ignited a 12-match winning streak to close the regular season. The Horned Frogs concluded the 2016-17 season with a 20-5 overall record and No. 9 final ITA team ranking.
Since then, TCU has spent just one week outside the top-20 of the ITA team rankings.
TCU's program-best streak of top-25 appearances will reach five years should the Horned Frogs hold steady in the rankings through March 21.
Doubles Delight
No program nationwide has been as dominant in doubles play as TCU over the last two seasons.
Since the 2022 campaign commenced, TCU has gone 39-5 in doubles and is currently enjoying a program record and nation-leading streak of 17 straight doubles points. TCU last surrendered the doubles point on Apr. 24, 2022 to Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament Championship.
Court by court, the Horned Frogs are 26-8 on court one, 29-7 out of the No. 2 post and own a 27-7 record in the third flight.
Top Frog Energy
TCU received the top spot in the ITA team rankings for the 10th time in program history on March 7.
The Horned Frogs regained the No. 1 overall ranking on Feb 21 after capturing the ITA Indoor National Championship.
TCU garnered its first No. 1 ranking in program history on March 2, 2022, and received seven of a possible 16 No. 1 rankings throughout the season.
In total, eight of the last 14 No. 1 ITA team rankings dating back to 2022 have been in possession of TCU.

Protect the Purple
The Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center is arguably the toughest venue in the nation for opposing teams to compete at. TCU has amassed a 100-11 (.901) record on the purple courts since 2015. Of the 1-- victories, 61 have come at the expense of ranked opponents. Under head coach David Roditi, the Horned Frogs have posted a remarkable 140-35 (.800) home record.
On the Road Again
Nearly two years have passed since TCU dropped an away dual.
The Horned Frogs' 4-1 victory at No. 10 Baylor on Feb. 8 extended the program's road winning streak to 10, dating back to the 2020-21 season.
TCU notched a perfect 7-0 record in away matches in 2022.
The Horned Frogs' last road defeat came in the Big 12 Tournament Championship at Baylor on Apr. 25, 2021.
