Miles and O'Bannon score 22 points to lead the Frogs into the semifinals
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Behind a season-high 11 3-pointers, No. 22 ranked and sixth-seeded TCU defeated No. 12 ranked and third-seeded Kansas State, 80-67, Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship at T-Mobile Center.
The Horned Frogs (21-11) will advance to their third Big 12 semifinal and face second-seeded Texas (24-8) on Friday at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN.
TCU fell behind 11-2 four minutes into the game. The Frogs fought back to take their first lead, 19-18, on the first of four 3-pointer from Mike Miles Jr. with 9:50 to play in the first half. Miles finished with 22 points
After the Wildcats (23-9) tied the game, a three by Micah Peavy, with just under six minutes remaining in the first half, gave the Frogs a lead they didn't give up.
TCU, which forced KSU into 20 turnovers, poured it on in the second half and led by as many as 16 with just over six minutes to play.
Chuck O'Bannon Jr scored 15 of his season-high 22 points in the second half and was 4-of-7 from 3-point range.
