Miles and O'Bannon score 22 points to lead the Frogs into the semifinals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Behind a season-high 11 3-pointers, No. 22 ranked and sixth-seeded TCU defeated No. 12 ranked and third-seeded Kansas State, 80-67, Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship at T-Mobile Center.

The Horned Frogs (21-11) will advance to their third Big 12 semifinal and face second-seeded Texas (24-8) on Friday at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN.

TCU fell behind 11-2 four minutes into the game. The Frogs fought back to take their first lead, 19-18, on the first of four 3-pointer from Mike Miles Jr. with 9:50 to play in the first half. Miles finished with 22 points

After the Wildcats (23-9) tied the game, a three by Micah Peavy, with just under six minutes remaining in the first half, gave the Frogs a lead they didn't give up.

TCU, which forced KSU into 20 turnovers, poured it on in the second half and led by as many as 16 with just over six minutes to play.

Chuck O'Bannon Jr scored 15 of his season-high 22 points in the second half and was 4-of-7 from 3-point range.

TCU improved to 12-21 all-time against KSU.
Jamie Dixon improved to 9-9 against KSU.
TCU improved to 7-10 all-time in the Big 12 Championship
TCU advanced to the Big 12 semifinals for the second-straight season and the third time overall. The Frogs have never played in the Big 12 title game.
TCU picked up its program-record sixth win against AP Top 25 teams (6-6).
Of TCU's 34 wins over AP Top 25 teams in its history, 19 have come in the last seven seasons under Dixon.
TCU forced KSU into 20 turnovers, the second most by a TCU opponent this season.

Individual Notes

Mike Miles Jr. tied a game-high with 22 points. It was his 22nd game in double figures this season out of 24 played and his eighth game scoring 20 or more.
Miles moved up to No. 16 on TCU's all-time scoring list with 1,232 career points.
Miles made a season-high four 3-pointers on seven attempts.
Chuck O'Bannon Jr. finished one-point shy of a career high with a season-high 22 points.
O'Bannon made a season-high four 3-pointers on seven attempts.
The 22 points by Miles and O'Bannon were the most by a TCU player in a Big 12 Championship. They tied with Lee Nailon for the most points scored by a TCU player ever against KSU.
Damion Baugh tied for the team lead in assists with four. It was his 15th-straight game leading TCU in assists and the 23rd time this season leading the team in that category out of 26 games played.
