
Bright Signs Three-Year Deal with Orlando Pride

The TCU alum was drafted by the Pride in the second round of the 2023 NWSL draft
ORLANDO, Fla. – Forward Messiah Bright and the Orlando Pride have agreed to a three-year contract, signing Bright through the 2025 NWSL season. Bright became the fourth TCU player to be drafted into the NWSL when she was picked in the second round, No. 21 overall, at this year's 2023 NWSL Draft.
Bright capped off her five-year career as the most prolific offensive player in program history, leaving as the all-time leader in goals scored (50) and points (118). She paced the team in points this season with 26 (11G, 4A). A United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week selection (Aug. 31), Bright became the first player in TCU history to record two hat tricks with three goals at UTRGV (Aug. 29). She contributed to multiple goals in four games and scored two game-winners on the season.
In her time at TCU, Bright started 103 career games. Along with being the all-time leader in goals and points, she is also tied for fifth on the all-time assists list with 18. She is the only player in program history with two 30-point seasons (30 in 2019, 40 in 2021). Bright is a five-time All-Big 12 Conference performer and a four-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection. She is a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-American, garnering first-team honors in 2021 and second-team accolades in 2022.
Bright was also named to the U.S. U-23 Women's Youth National Team in 2022 as well as being called up to the U-18 USWNT training camps in Florida and Switzerland in 2018.
Bright is already making her mark as a member of the Orlando Pride. She tallied an assist on Julie Doyle's game-winning goal in the Pride's 2-0 preseason win against the Kansas City Current on Feb. 23.
