Lau cards five birdies on the day
ALBANY, NEW PROVIDENCE, BAHAMAS – TCU women's golf sophomore Caitlyn Macnab shot a 2-over 74 to put the Horned Frogs in 6th place after Day 1 at the Nexus Collegiate held at the Albany Golf Club. Lois Lau carded five birdies to tie for the round lead.
TCU battled a 15-mile-an-hour-plus wind as they shot a 20-over 308 in the first round of the tournament. Auburn, the tournament host, claimed the top of the leaderboard at an even-par 288.
Macnab sits tied for 12th among all competitors after shooting a 74 (+2). She is just three shots behind the tournament lead. Lau is tied for 14th with a 3-over 75. Sofia Barroso Sa posted with a 5-over 77 followed by Sabrina Nguyen's 10-over 82. Trinity King carded a 13-over 85.
Competing as an individual, and playing in her second collegiate event, Sheridan Clancy posted a 10-over 82.
Round two of the Nexus Collegiate is slated to begin at 6:45 a.m. (CT). TCU will begin the round on hole No. 1.
